Hi All,
I have had type 1 for 25 years (since I was one) and my sister for ten.  I can only imagine as parents what you are going through, but I can relate to the feelings of your children and their desire to be independent and want diabetes to take a back seat so they can be more like their peers.  The burnout can hit very hard at this age.  If I can be of any help to anyone, please let me know.  I am happy to discuss via email or phone with you or your children.  I had a great and successful four years in college, moved to Manhattan and worked there for four years, and now am pursuing my Master's at Vanderbilt.  I actually have done a lot of work with adolescents with diabetes both in the United States and across the world and would love to help in any way possible.
Sincerely,
Caitlin
