We're thinking of home schooling our kids during their middle school years, which are a couple years away. My wife is more inclined to do so, while I'm more reticent. I'm concerned that home schooling will intensify the 24/7 "type 1" watch we're already on (if that's possible) and eliminate the little time now available to get other things done.  Now, with the kids at school, there is time for my wife to do some of those things and to catch a little rest here and there.

Home schoolers....how do you do it all? What's your experience? Advice?

Is  there anything like a "Home School Group For Type 1 Families"? Or some other resource?

Hi!  We have three boys and we have homeschooled all of them since the beginning.  They are in Kindergarten, second grade and fourth grade.  We made our decision to homeschool before any of them were diagnosed (now two are diagnosed with Type 1 and the third has an elevated A1C and a low insulin level) so diabetes did not enter into our decision.  We think that our life shaping decision to homeschool was the best decision we have ever made.
I certainly understand the worry of Type 1 being a 24/7 responsibility if you are with your kids 24/7, but I almost think it is easier because I am never having to worry about their numbers are when they are away from me.  I never have to worry if their high BG will make them have a rough day in school that day, if they got in trouble because they were high, etc.  I also never have to wake them up if they had a rough night.  Plus I never have to hand control of their diabetes over to the school nurse and hope she makes the right calls while we are away.  IMO, managing diabetes is probably easier because we have two fewer (school nurse and teacher) involved.
As for how we do it
