There was this incredible thread on facebook from different folks about how they got additional resources after the insurance company had paid.
We are able to get a 2nd insurance through the state for our son who is t1d. It is called Childrens Special Health insurance. It covers anything that our insurance doesn't for all his diabetic needs. We do have to pay $55/per month for it, but it is worth it. So try and see if there is a program in your state for t1d.
we have to order our pump suplies from
www.edgepark.com. When I order through them I only have to pay a co-pay for the supplies - they have animas, medtronic, and different supplies. You can call them and it takes them a few days to get approval from your insurance and then they can tell you if you will only have to pay a copay through them.
He qualifies for medical assistance thru the state for all the copays since he has a lifelong illness.
