My 9 yr old son was just diagnosed with T1 two months ago and it's been devistating. There is so much to learn! Soon after his diagnoses he started to do like a nervous twitch thing. A quick shake of his head, doc said could be tourrettes. It diminished but now he can't seem to remember anything!!! I've gone from giving him a list of 3 things to do, down to 1... but I have to remind him like 6 times! Docs say that it is not related!?! We are both very frustrated... Has anyone else had these symptoms occur? Huh

It's probably the stress of being diagnosed and dealing with such a big change in his life (poor kid).  My son is 6 and started stuttering when he was in the hospital after being diagnosed.  The stuttering went away quickly once we got home and he was back in his "normal" environment.  So, it had to be the stress of the whole situation.  It's just a huge change for them - poor kids.  ...I respectfully don't agree with your son's doctor - I think it IS related.  He's probably just preoccupied with this whole thing and is forgetting the things he is supposed to be remembering.  Wink  Hang in there.  It'll get better.  He just needs to adjust.  It's hard for US to remember everything (as parents).  Imagine how hard it is on our kids!   Cry
