My daughter is 6 yrs old type 1 diabetic since she was 18 months and is pumping..The past month she has been having stomach cramps and bloody stools along with weakness in her joints...she is having a colonoscopy & endoscopy next week..Has anyone else experienced this...Its possible she may have ulcerative colitis or crohns disease ...really worried and stressed

I posted your comment on our PDK FB page and here's some answers from other parents:

 My t1 had some issues with his stomach when he was younger and also had some bleeding issues as well... But his ended up being due to dehydration causing blockages in his bowels...

 I believe I have heard there can be other autoimmune issues with T1Ds, such as Chrons, so its a good thing you are getting it checked out.

 My t1 little boy had the same and after a biopsy of his bowl he was diagnosed coeliac . Since he.s been put on a very stricked diat he's pretty much pain free x
