Went to our New Endo Tuesday. Both kids A1C in the 7, so happy about that. On the other hand both kids didn't gain any weight since last visit so they want to do a celiac blood test. Our foods often are gluten or wheat free. The doctor then said the test wouldn't be accurate. Any thoughts?

It's true that if you're gluten free the test may not be accurate, but unless you've made a point to be gluten free you're probably not!  Having had to go sans gluten it seems that everything has it in it- salad dressings, soy sauce, most foods with preservatives or flavorings, on and on it goes!  If you or your doc is still concerned with the accuracy, feed them pasta and sanwiches a couple times/week for a few weeks and then do the test.  I think there is also a genetic test available that may be helpful but you'll probably need to see a pedi GI to figure out if it would be helpful.
