My 8 year old daughter woke up this morning in a pool of blood from her nose.  This has never happened before.  She also has a cold.  Is this related to her type 1 diabetes in some way? Should I be alarmed?  Anyone have this happen to their child that could help me understand please?

My son is 16 and has had Diabetes for a year and 1/2 now and he often get nose bleeds? 
Asked the Nurse about it and she said it wasn't related, I am not convinced. 
Anyone else had this happen?

hi, my daughter is 5 and she also woke up in the middle of the night with a nosebleed, she had mild cold and sore throat as well. her doc told us not to worry. its not related to her diabetes.
